There's a moment when the light hits the chain and you notice the gold. Then the chainring bolts, the small details across the build — all pulled toward one quiet theme. We didn't start with the color. We started with a question: what does a gravel bike need to go faster and easier, wherever the road decides to go?

This is our answer to that — built part by part, and finished in gold.

Faster and easier, wherever the road goes

Most gravel rides aren't one surface. You leave on tarmac, drop onto a riverside path, hit a stretch of loose gravel, then climb back onto pavement to get home. An all-road touring build is made for exactly that — not the fastest on any single surface, but composed across all of them, and comfortable enough that the day doesn't have to end at lunch.

So the build leans two ways at once. Light where speed matters — lightweight cranks, carbon wheels, a clip-on aero extension for the long flat stretches into a headwind. Settled where comfort matters — a wide-range cassette for the climbs, touring bags and a light for the days that run long, a saddle and fit that hold up hour after hour.

No bike does everything

A bike that's fast isn't always comfortable. One that's light isn't always tough. Cheap and good rarely share a frame. That's not a problem to hide — it's just true, and any build is a set of choices about where to land.

This one lands on all-road touring. It's not the answer; it's one reading of a sweet spot — tuned for the way roads and paths run together here, and for riders who'd rather keep going than turn back early. Spec it for racing and you'd choose differently. Spec it for pure bikepacking and you'd choose differently again. We're happy to tell you where each part gives and where it takes.

The Scan Gravel Open GT frame is the foundation — open geometry that stays calm when the surface turns rough, with the clearance and mounts a touring setup needs. Paired with an ENVE carbon fork to take the edge off the front end.

SRAM Force 1× keeps it simple. One chainring, nothing to trim, nothing to think about when you're tired — and the XPLR 10–46T cassette gives the range to spin up a loaded climb and still hold speed on the flat. Lightweight cranks and a carbon wheelset are where the build sheds its grams, so it accelerates and climbs without feeling heavy underneath you.

Up front, a compact carbon aero extension is the touring detail people overlook — on a long, flat, windy stretch it gives you a place to rest and a lower line through the air, and that adds up over a full day in the saddle.

And the gold? That was a choice too

The gold accent theme isn't a paint job. It's the chain, the small hardware, the details chosen to pull together — one idea carried consistently across the bike. It's there because someone decided it should be.

That's the real point of this build. Every part on that list was a decision, and every part is fully customizable. A different group, a wheelset matched to your weight and roads, a fit dialed to your body — a different accent color, if gold isn't yours. We don't sell a fixed spec.
