Free Bike Rentals in Pyeongtaek — No Catch, Just Ride
You don't need to own a bike to ride in Pyeongtaek. The city runs two free bicycle rental stations along local streams — no cost, no app, no deposit. Just show your ID and go.
The service is called "두 바퀴의 행복" (Two Wheels of Happiness), and it's open to everyone — residents, tourists, military families. Here's what you need to know.
Two Locations
1. Segyo Station (세교점) — Tongbokcheon Stream
- Address: 174 Dongsak-ro, Pyeongtaek-si (평택시 동삭로 174)
- Where: Along Tongbokcheon Stream, across from Buyoung Apartments
- Phone: 070-4152-7003 / 010-6782-4788
- Parking: Tongbok Market public lot (90 min free, then ₩500/30 min)
This is the central Pyeongtaek location, about a 20-minute walk from Pyeongtaek Station. The Tongbokcheon bike path runs roughly 10 km along the stream — flat, paved, and lined with cherry blossoms in spring.
2. Oseong Station (오성점) — Anseongcheon Stream
- Address: 486, Gangbyeon-ro, Oseong-myeon, Pyeongtaek-si
- Where: Dangeo Rest Stop along the Oseong riverside bike path
- Phone: 070-8801-4788 / 010-3980-4788
- Parking: Free
This one sits along the Anseongcheon riverside bike path. The full path stretches about 40 km from Gunmun Bridge to Paengseong Bridge — flat terrain, mostly dedicated bike lanes, good for a longer ride if you have the time.

That's it. No app, no credit card, no membership.
What Bikes Are Available
The Segyo station has around 40 adult city bikes (with front baskets), plus about 10 kids' bikes. They also have tandem bikes and bikes with rear child seats — useful if you're riding with family.
Both stations combined have 60+ bikes total. They're basic city bikes — upright, comfortable, nothing fancy. Fine for cruising the path.
Where to Ride
From Segyo (Tongbokcheon):
The Tongbokcheon path is a simple out-and-back along the stream. About 10 km total. Flat and paved. It connects toward the Jinwicheon bike path and Sopung Picnic Garden if you want to extend the ride.
From Oseong (Anseongcheon):
The riverside path here is longer — up to 40 km if you do the full route. It also connects to the Pyeongtaek Lake cycling loop (13 km north section, 11 km south section), which passes the UN Forces Memorial and Pyeongtaek Lake Art Park.
Both paths are part of Pyeongtaek's 8 designated cycling routes. If you're into stamp collecting, there are 6 bike passport certification booths throughout the city.
Good to Know

- Helmets included — provided at the station
- 2-hour limit — plan accordingly, especially on weekends
- Closed Mondays — and public holidays
- The stations are run by a local social cooperative (평택지역자활센터), not a private company
