The RSL 65X is Trek's top carbon road wheelset, built for speed, low weight and stability in one wheel. Here is what it is and what's in the box.

### What it is

The "X" in the name means the front rim is deeper than the rear. The front is 65mm, to cut through the air. The rear is 58mm, to keep the weight down and the handling sharp. Both sit at the UCI's maximum rim height, so you get the aero benefit without a heavy wheel. Trek's testing shows 2.1 watts less drag than the previous generation.

### What's different

- **Lighter.** The set weighs 1,475g, 45g less than the previous generation.
- **Carbon blade spokes.** They are 96g lighter than steel spokes and are shaped to cut the air too.
- **Built for 28mm tyres.** The RSL OCLV carbon rim is optimised for 28mm tyres, and Trek verified it is just as fast on 30mm. It stays stable in crosswinds and absorbs road vibration well.
- **Bontrager hubs with ceramic bearings.** Combined with the carbon spokes, they transfer power efficiently. The front wheel uses 18 spokes.
