Cherry Blossoms by Bike — The Best Spots Near Camp Humphreys
Spring in Korea hits fast. One week the trees are bare, and the next, everything is pink and white and suddenly everyone is outside.
If you've got a bike — or you've been thinking about getting one — this is the week to use it. Here are the best cherry blossom spots you can reach from Camp Humphreys on two wheels, sorted by how far you want to go.
Short Ride — Half a Morning
Jinwicheon Riverside Path (진위천 자전거길)
Distance from base: Starts right outside the gate
Road type: Dedicated bike path, flat, paved

The easiest option. The Jinwicheon path connects directly from the base area and runs along the river with cherry trees lining sections of the route. You can go as far as you want — the path eventually connects all the way up toward Suwon. Even a 30-minute ride out and back is worth it right now.
Pyeongtaek Lake (평택호)
Distance from base: ~30–35km / 2 hours by bike
Road type: Mixed path, mostly flat
A short, easy ride out to the lake. The area around the waterfront has cherry blossom lining the walking and cycling paths. It's quiet, not touristy, and a good spot to stop, take some photos, and head back at your own pace.
Riding on April (Pyeongtaek Lake)
Timing
As of late March, the blossoms around Pyeongtaek and Jinwicheon are at or near peak right now. Suwon and Osan should be peaking this weekend. Asan tends to run a few days behind — likely early next week.
Cherry blossoms don't wait. If the weather looks good this weekend, go.
